Abstract: Modern electronic devices, such as TV sets, monitors, personal computers etc, may be susceptible to power frequency EM fields originating form the current caring conductors buried in surrounding walls. If necessary, the fields should be reduced to acceptable levels. Shielding the conductors by aluminum plates can be an inexpensive way to do so. In addition, the presence of a loading effect of the conducting structures in close proximity to power cables is very important. This paper deals with numerical estimation of
the magnetic field cancellation and the power loss of nonferrous metal structures based on multi conductor method. Both systems, single-phase and balanced three-phase system, were considered in order to estimate the efficiency of aluminum shields.
