Electric Field Strength and Polarization of Multy Three Phase Power Lines, PES 2007

Abstract: In order to get the thorough acquaintance with electromagnetic field around the power lines, it is necessary to determine both, the magnitude of electric field strength, as well as its polarization, which is usually elliptic. Knowing the electric field polarization is crucial, because it has the major impact on human body, and enables the exact determination of the maximal magnitude of the electric field strength. Nowadays, a multi-line power system is present in our neighbourhood in order to satisfy increasing need for electric power. The electric field strength and its polarization around the multi-line power system depend on geometry and phase arrangement of the conductors. Therefore, the power lines located close to each other are coupled. The coupling needs to be included in the calculation of the electric field strength and its polarization.
